Men's Highland attire.

Below is the Sporran (Gaelic for purse). It was used mainly to store food for use when out with the herds.

Some were said to have internal pockets in which to keep other items of daily use. The sporran in the picture usually contains a good supply of oats, a wooden spoon, and any shortbread or scones laying about. The hard cover is to keep the contents dry. The bag under the cover is a basic draw string type with a hard leather insert in the front and the "tongue" of the cover sewn to the back inside of the bag.

The Pennanulars (show below) were used to pin the woman's arisaid and the man's kilt. These are made of brass and very simple in design and decoration.
